Andrew Green
Andrew Green is a Bay Area native – born and raised in Oakland California. He comes from a family of musicians. His dad plays French Horn, and his mom, the viola. Andrew knew from a young age that music was something he wanted to pursue. It’s always been an important part of who he is, and it helps him express himself.
Andrew originally started learning the flute at 6 years old, and not long after started studying piano and voice. At 14, he transferred to the San Francisco School for the Arts to study voice.
After participating in musical theater throughout high school, Andrew went on to study Vocal Performance at Lawrence University Conservatory of Music. There, he studied voice, completed more piano training, and studied abroad in Vienna, Italy.
In 2019, Andrew started teaching at San Francisco School for the Arts, and fell in love with it! His favorite thing about teaching is watching the process of learning unfold. He loves seeing the students light up when they have an “Aha!” moment, and helping to ignite a passion in them. Andrew enjoys playing all genres of music, but particularly likes playing and teaching pop music, and how to accompany yourself when singing.
He is currently performing all around the Bay Area with several theater companies and productions. He is primarily working with Lamplighters Music Theater, West Edge Opera, and Pocket Opera.
When he’s not teaching, you can catch Andrew outside somewhere in nature. He’s very outdoorsy and loves camping and backpacking. He also enjoys yoga and playing with his cat. Andrew is excited to get you started on your musical journey!
