Rakel Smith- Piano Instructor

Rakel’s music career began when she started taking piano lessons at age 7. During her high school years, she started accompanying at church services and at graduations/events. After completing the Certificate of Merit, she attended college and earned a BA in music. While in college, Rakel had the opportunity to tour the country with a women’s choir, as well as tour abroad in Italy. She’s been teaching for almost 6 years now, both privately and at music schools. She greatly enjoys teaching students of all ages, with many backgrounds and music skills!

Alive or Dead, What Musician would you do anything to see perform/meet?
Chopin, Beethoven or Johnny Cash!

Classical music and musicians in my family

Any hidden talents besides music?
I love to draw cartoons and paint!

What did you want to be while you were growing up?
An illustrator

If you could have any ‘Super Power’, which one would it be?
To be invisible : )

If you could master any other instrument which would it be?
I’ve always wanted to excel at the violin!

Have you had what people would consider your “15 Minutes of Fame”, and if so when/what was that?
Performing in an hour long senior recital with a fellow pianist! (2015) : ) it was a thrill for sure!

A really good poké bowl

If you could leave one lesson with your students what would it be?
You’ll appreciate consistent practice when you’re older! ; )
