Vince Mellone- Guitar and Ukulele Instructor
Vince Mellone is a long time musician, teacher and general music lover. Vincent started playing guitar at 14 years old. The summer before his freshman year of high school he was inspired by a friend learning guitar. He got his first guitar that summer, and hasn’t stopped playing since.
Originally Vince really enjoyed learning popular songs from his guitar teacher, who he now teaches at another school with. His teacher’s chill personality and passion for teaching and playing inspired his own teaching style today.
Once Vince had the opportunity to play in a band, his passion grew even stronger- so much so that he changed his major to Music. During that time Vince played with several groups and even recorded a few albums. It’s during that time that he also started his own teaching practice and really fell in love with teaching.
Over the years he has created his own teaching system: Vince’s Guitar Army. This step-by-step system allows students to make steady progress in an organized way, while enjoying the process of learning.
Vince loves watching his students grow as people and musicians. Over the years he’s had many students excel in guitar in ways they never knew they could. Vince is super versatile and can teach any style. He especially enjoys teaching everything from Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and Jimi Hendrix to Al Green, Sly and the Family Stone, and the Funkadelics. Most importantly, Vince enjoys helping students learn what they’re most passionate about so they can feel the tremendous joy of learning music in the same way he does.
