Yoriko Richman- Piano Instructor
Yoriko’s background in music started at a young age and has rapidly progressed since then. She holds a Bachelor’s in Piano from Musashino Academia Musicae in Tokyo, Japan. During that time she also studied jazz drums at the Yamaha Drums School. After graduating, she then obtained her Professional Performance degree in Jazz Piano and Arrangement at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. She then also graduated from the Dalcroze School of Music in New York and received a Dalcroze International License.
She has also taught a teacher’s training program at the Dalcroze School of Music in New York. She is a former preparatory division faculty of the Mannes College of Music. She then taught the Dalcroze method to children at Showa Academia Musicae in Japan and ran several teacher training programs.
She proceeded to study in a postgraduate program at Institut Jaques-Dalcroze in Geneva, Switzerland. She has been a preparatory division faculty of San Francisco Conservatory of Music since 1999. She has been also a faculty member of San Francisco Girls Chorus since 2014.
Yoriko enjoys working with students of all ages and teaching everything from classical and popular to jazz piano and theory. She’d excited to help you get started on or continue your musical journey!
